I am a photography and art historian with research interests in photo albums, photo books, Photography in the period of the weimar republic, national socialism and post-War germany, And Photo Archives.
In my research, I explore questions like: What are the characteristics of photo albums and what role do they play in different periods and contexts? What is it that can be expressed through photo albums? What is the difference between a photo album, photo book and scrapbook?
How are photographs utilized within propaganda frameworks, and in what ways do they visually construct and communicate (ideological) conceptions of labour?
